Eagles coach, Stephen Keshi
Super Eagles preparations for the May 23 international friendly against
Peru in Lima, started on Tuesday at the Practice Pitch of the National
Stadium in Abuja, with all the players invited in attendance but for the
injured duo of Solomon Jabason and Shehu Maijema.
Also, all invited players of Heartland of Owerri and Warri Wolves, who
have crucial CAF Confederation Cup games to play away from home were
also given a reprieve by Head Coach, Stephen Keshi, who said there was
no need to rush them to camp, when their teams will be travelling out of
the country midweek.
The players concerned are imposing defender, Azubuike Egwueke, Sunday
Mba and skipper Chigozie Agbim all of Wolves, while Obinna Nwachukwu and
goalkeeper Dan Akpeyi are of Heartland.
The players are now expected in camp latest Monday next week.
But players of Sunshine Stars of Akure, who have a crucial CAF
Champoions League game this weekend at home in Ijebu-Ode against a
Malian side are in camp and trained with the rest of the squad on
Tuesday morning.
They are skipper of the side Godfrey Oboabona and striker Izu Azuka.
The other players who trained are Okemute Odah, Hamza Ikenna
Onwuemenyi, Juwon Oshaniwa, Barbabas Imenger, who is suffering from a
slight knock on his knee and was exempted from training on Tuesday.
Nura Mohammed, Gbolahan Salami, Kalu Uche, Henry Uche, Samson Pius were
also in full swing during training that was supervised by Keshi himself
along with his assistants.
Compleing the 18-man list of players who made the training are Marcel
Obioha, Hassan Hussein, Emma Nwachi, Ugonna Ozochukwu, Papa Idris,
Gabriel Reuben and electric winger Ejike Uzoenyi.

the trip to Lima.
“Prove yourself on the pitch and you will be on the plane to Peru,” he said.
